Glycerites are extracts made with pure vegetable glycerine (instead of the alcohol normally used), and are suitable for children and may also be suitable for persons with certain types of alcohol sensitivities.
CATNIP GLYCERITE
Fresh Catnip herb, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural anti-oxidant)
Catnip is a wonderful herb, which is mildly sedative, and helps promote sleep. It helps promote sweating, which is helpful for colds, flu, and other infectious childhood diseases. Catnip acts as a natural carminative, and as an aid in diarrhea. As a tea or an extract, Catnip has a rather bitter, minty flavor, and so the glycerite form is much easier to get kids to take. Nursing mothers can also use this herb to increase the flow of breast milk. (Milk thistle seed, fennel seed, and Blessed thistle can also work well to increase lactation). Nursing mothers will also wish to avoid Sage and Parsley herbs, which decrease lactation.

CATNIP & FENNEL GLYCERITE
Catnip, fennel seed, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural anti-oxidant).
Catnip herb and fennel seed are well-known natural remedies, historically used to combat flatulence, colic, intestinal gas and bloating, and their associated griping pains. (If this is a problem for your child, (particularly if you're nursing), it is suggested to remove all dairy products and dairy-based infant formulas from the childs' diet, and that the nursing mom must avoid spicy foods, which will be passed to the child (via the mothers milk), and which are many times, responsible for the colic condition.

CHAMOMILE GLYCERITE
Chamomile flowers, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural anti-oxidant).
Chamomile flowers contain the essential oil, azulene, which is highly anti-inflammatory, and soothing. These flowers are also mildly sedative and carminative, promoting restful sleep and relaxation of digestive functions.

ECHINACEA GLYCERITE
Echinacea a. root and flower, Echinacea p. root, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural anti-oxidant)..
Echinacea roots and flowers contain several constituents which stimulate immune system functions, including "scouring" by parts of the innate immune system particles, known as macrophages.
These macrophages search our bodies for invading pathogens (virus, & bacteria), Stimulating this "Inate" part of the immune system can, in many cases, also help trigger the rapid formation of antibodies designed to kill the invader.
These antibodies are manufactured by the "Aquired" Immune System. Additionally, Echinacea has been shown to limit tissue damage through its unique hyaluronidase inhbition, which limits the ability of bacteria to break down the "gel" which holds cells together in cohesive body tissues.
Most forms of Echinacea will help in resolution of boils or abscesses in skin tissues by using them either as an herb poultice or a clay paste made with the extract or very strong decoction of the root (tea). Clay poultices can be used when strong drawing characteristics are desired.

FENNEL GLYCERITE
Fresh Fennel seed, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural preservative).
Fennel seed is a natural carminative, which can be an aid in cases of indigestion. Fennel has a strong flavor... similar to Anise seed, and is the flavoring agent used in black licorice candy. This glycerite has a yummy taste, and can be used to soothe the bloating and gas pains in infants and children with colic.
If your infant or child has frequent colic, ear infections, or is susceptible to "every illness which comes along", then here are my suggestions to parents. Carefully analyze the food intake of the child. First, remove dairy and wheat products, since these are statistically, the most common human allergens. It is estimated that only 15 % of all humans can properly digest the proteins (gluten) found in wheat and some other grains. Other highly refined foods like sugar, and certain food additives and coloring agents are also common culprets in digestive dysfunctions, and should be removed from the dietary intake. You should be able to tell within a week or two, if these substances are allergens for you or your child. Typically, allergens include foods which are eaten every day, or for which there is a craving.

KIDS TEETHING GLYCERITE
Chamomile flowers, Spilanthes flowers, Lemon balm herb, pure vegetable glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a preservative), and stevia standardized extract.
This great teething formula combines herbs chosen for their flavor, immuno-stimulation actions, or their calming or sedative effects. This formula is completely safe for infants who are transiting through the process of teething, and are less than happy with the pain in their irritated gums. The long-lasting anesthetising properties of Spilanthes (also called "toothache plant" by the Native South American tribes who discovered this herb and its many uses.), can turn a grouchy, infant into a "happy camper", while providing immuno-stimulation. The chamomile and Lemon balm are gently sedative, anti-inflammatory, and Lemon balm exhibits some anti-viral properties. Many moms tell me how much children love its great flavor.

LEMON BALM GLYCERITE
Fresh Lemon Balm herb, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a preservative).
Lemon Balm is an old-fashioned, tasty remedy, which has the flavor of a fresh lemon, and is calming and slightly mood-elevating. It's old common name is Melissa, and it was often referred to as "the gladdening herb" (makes one happier). Lemon Balm is a member of the mint family, and it contains volatile essential oils which contribute to its good medicinal effects in cases of colds, flu, headaches, indigestion and depression.

MILK THISTLE SEED GLYCERITE
Milk thistle seed, Milk thistle seed standardized extract , glycerine, purified water, ascorbic acid (as a preservative).
Milk thistle seed is a wonderfully-beneficial herb, which has been clinically proven (in European clinical trials in the 1990s), to promote liver health and function. Its use in hepatitis (all types) promotes regeneration of functional cells within the liver. Although not a "cure" for hepatitis, it may, in many cases, prevent further viral damage, and stimulate better liver function. Milk thistle seed is also available as a Standardized extract

SPILANTHES GLYCERITE
Fresh Spilanthes herb, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol, ascorbic acid (as a natural anti-oxidant).
Spilanthes acmella is a wonderful little herb, with bright, petal-less, yellow flowers, which have brick red centers. This herb contains some of the same active constituents found in Echinacea, and which are responsible for its intense tingling sensation, when applied to inflammed gums during teething. The isobutylamides, which create the tingle, also gently stimulate the inate immune system. In some countries, this herb is used as a spice in salads and other foods.

YERBA MANSA GLYCERITE
Yerba mansa root, glycerine, purified water, organic grain alcohol. (approx. 6%)
Yerba Mansa root contains constituents which soothe the mucous membrane lining of the entire body, in a way similar to Goldenseal root, but with a different set of natural compounds. This herb may be used where long-standing sinus infections are present, and can be used as a remedial agent, having good effects in gastric or esophogeal ulcers. This plant is prized, and has been used historically for the purposes outlined above. The glycerite has a sweeter flavor and is more pleasant to take orally than the alcohol/water extract.
